I think that internet nowadays is mostly used by the new generation for more than studying and working, I think that it is specially used for socially relating. People transfer most of their face to face relationship to online means. People have a lot of friends online that are not real friendships, people have sexual experiences online that do not happen in their real life, people even fall in love and have love stories over the internet, but sometimes these stories do not even get to happen in real life.

This type of transfer of relationship from real to virtual life is very dangerous. As said in Giovanna's text, people may start to lose their abilities to deal with the other. On the internet it is easy to select what parts of themselves people want to show. It is easy to hide the parts they do not like as to create the perfect image. That may create an illusion that the person is really good, and when it comes to real life, the defects will appear and people may not be expecting and ready to deal with them.

Now moving from the social to the individual aspect of the issue, psychologists have been talking about "internet addiction". There are even studies being published declaring that the same parts of the brain affected in a person addicted to drugs and alcohol is affected by "internet addiction". That is very important because the tendency is to every generation people get more and more dependent on the internet. If that is really and addiction problem, then the way of dealing with it may also have to be very serious.

Because of these and many other important reasons, it is essencial that people become aware of this new reality and pay attention so things do not start to get out of control and pass from a very usefool tool to a very harmful one.

The main point I agree with Joyce's post is the one about phsycological and emotional aspects of sex education. As presented in the post, Brazil's ways of dealing with the subject so far is with biology classes, and that obviously only deals with the physical aspects of the issue.

Sex should not be a tabu anymore in any society. Religion, for example, has made such a big deal of it that even nowadays, in a very modern world, it is still a very delicate subject. There are, and there have always been, many people that do not have a healthy sexual life because of wrong beliefs and wrong ideas about sex, ideas that have been imposed to everyone since a long time and for very convenient reasons. Because of this imposed ideas, people have moral, ethical, psycological and emotional problems corcerning sex.

I do not mean that the physical part is not important, it is. But in my opinion, to have professionals that were able to deal with all these aspects of sexual life would be a very rich gain for teens. This would slowly change people's ways of dealing with sex, would create a more aware society. The frequency of this classes or programs would make the issue more easy and natural to be dealt by teens and would surely bring benefits to individuals and society.

How could the situation of jails determine the possibility of death penalty? So, just because the place is not "good", the inmates should die? I know they must pay for their crimes, but not with their lives. I know some of them have done some really cruel things when free, but I still believe that there are other ways of punishing criminals. In my opinion, no man has the right to take other man's life, it does not matter the context.

I am also against quotas, I also think that they are a way of not facing the real problem, and therefore, to not solve it. It is clear to everyone that the real problem has its origin in poor quality public basic education. Having quotas is just a way to distract the population, making it believe that the government is worried and trying to make improvements. The fact is that if the government really wanted to make things better, it could. Really investing on education would really change the situation of our schools and students. If basic education were actually well qualified, quotas would not be necessary. If basic education had good quality, the difference on students level of knowledge would not be related to their social situation, but rather to their effort on learning or on their intelectual competences.
